Science Olympiad with Han

It was my first time visiting the Sycamore middle school and I really enjoyed the entire Science Olympiad event. I was able to walk around and see all the cool booths they had set up and personally, my favorite was the one where they find fossils like shark teeth out of a sandbox!

I also had a great time working with Georgia and guiding the kids to build popsicle stick flashlights. We received a lot of kids as well as parents and we were able to not only support them in practically making the flashlight but help them understand the electric circuit theory behind it. It was very heart-warming to see the kids being super excited about their mini flashlights.

We also distributed kits to the parents who wanted to redo the experiment at home! It was such a successful event filled with meeting new people, learning, and supporting young minds to engineering projects – one of the sole missions of our SWE.
